Film at School is implemented by the Georgian National Film Center with the financial support from the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.

The key aim of our project, Film at School, is to help youngsters develop reasoning and creativity skills by means of promoting cinematography. To this end, we go to schools of Georgia and offer school students a film program that is particularly designed for them.

Screening of Georgian and foreign films by applying selected educational material and with the participation of film missionaries (film professionals) is a weekly event in schools involved in the project; screenings are followed by educational discussions and interesting talks. Furthermore, school students are engaged in various creative activities: they make films, draw film posters, write reviews and take part in entertaining competitions held under the project. Also, meetings are often organized with renowned Georgian cinematographers or actors. Among our guests, at various times, were Eldar Shengelaia, Misha Kobakhidze, Zaza Urushadze, Levan Kog

uashvili, Zaza Kolelishvili, Kakhi Kavsadze, Givi Berikashvili, Merab Ninidze and many others.

Our film education resources: by means of films selected particularly for youngsters, educational materials, online competitions, application for studying film specifics and many other interesting activities offered under the project you will find yourself in the world of movie lovers.

Kote Chlaidze

Head of Regional Projects Department

Good movies can enrich a person’s life by making it more interesting. We show good movies to school students in the country’s regions and by doing so, we believe that we bring benefit to them.

Manager of Regional Projects Department

Hearing assessments of children engaged in the project and seeing their actions you understand that the job you do is not a routine at all, but the job that really makes change, leaves an imprint on the life of the coming generation. I believe that the Film at School project itself contains a potential for development, we just perform a function of a guide.
